Life & work
Early life and training
Namazi was born in Isfahan and raised in Shiraz. Her father played tar and setar. She began formal music education at seven and later studied classical piano, solfège and Western classical singing.1
In 2016–17, she began studying Persian avaz with Saeedeh Bozorgmanesh. She learned Razavi Sarvestani’s vocal radif with Shayan and Majid Rouzitalab, and in 2021–22 began teaching it under Rouzitalab’s supervision.4
Vocal practice
In January 2021, she posted her “Avaz-E Bayat Esfahan” on SoundCloud, a recreation of an avaz from Razavi Sarvestani’s album Rang-e Farah.78
On “Avaz-e Homayoun”, Namazi and tar player Farid Forooghi recreated a performance by singer Younes Dardashti and tar player Ebrahim Sarkhosh. They recorded it at home on a mobile phone.5
Later collaborations
In 2023, Namazi sang backing vocals for Jaana Ensemble’s Baade Saba, a film devoted to Iranian folk music that Farhang Foundation premiered that December.9 She sang a poem by Saghir Esfahani on “Descent”, released in 2024. Milad Dezfoulian composed the music and played tanbur, with electronic design by Jahandar Sheybani.1011
During 2026, Namazi released a series of songs composed by Arash Fathi with lyrics by Haeri. Their “Labat Che Gooyad?” appeared in June.1126 She dedicated “Geryeh Nakon” to those who gave their lives for Iran.13 Fathi joined her as a singer on “Aseman Be Aseman”, released that November.1415
